Counselling

We offer the following services:

Building Self-Esteem:

Low self-esteem is not just about low self-confidence. If you have low self-esteem, you are more likely to feel lonely, sad, or dejected. On a prolonged basis, it can cause anxiety and depression. Unfortunately, anxiety and depression can also lead to low self-esteem. This is because anxious and depressed individuals are more prone to feel worthless, incompetent, and inadequate. Working to strengthen your self-esteem and focused self-care can help to break this vicious cycle. Working on self-esteem takes determination and effort but it is worth it – because you are worth it!
Take your first step to reclaim your sense of self, feel confident in relationships, and take charge of your mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

Grief Counselling:

Most of us will experience loss at some point in life. Bereavement is the type of grief involving the death of loved ones. Grief is a reaction to any form of loss. Some examples are loss of job, identity, purpose, control, home, and pet.
In current times, the death, loss, and suffering due to COVID-19 is unprecedented. For those who have lost their loved ones, they were not able to travel home to say goodbye or there were no ceremonies for them to pay their last respect. Not being able to grieve or unresolved grief can cause emotional disconnection, detachment, negativity, and depression. If not addressed, it can be debilitating. However, grief is also a social phenomenon and culture plays a critical role in how individuals deal with death and bereavement.

What to expect in counselling?

It is important that you complete the Intake Form and the Consent Form prior to the first session. The first session would be the opportunity for you to tell me what brings you to counselling and what do you hope to achieve or change?

  • In counselling, outcome or results are not expected to be immediate and will depend on our collaborative efforts and your commitment to the counselling process and the action/treatment plan.
  • Each counselling session is confidential, and the limitations stated in the consent form comply with the laws of Hong Kong.
  • There is a difference between counselling and advising. Giving advice is deciding what is best for you.  Counselling empowers you to explore and decide what is best for you.  It is an opportunity for you to re-new trust and confidence in yourself to follow your own path forward.
