Nicholas Chow - Founder and Counsellor

I believe self-worth should be based on personal values and not the judgment of others. Relationships are important to me. Respect, integrity, and consideration are my cornerstones of meaningful and lasting relationships.

I focus on the needs of my clients and adopt a counselling style that integrates client’s strengths and resources with appropriate counselling concepts from solutions-focused, person-centred, acceptance-commitment, and cognitive-behavioural therapies.

Having spent 25 years as a Human Resources (HR) practitioner in the banking industry in Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong, I have an insightful and intuitive understanding of human behaviours. My HR expertise included: people assessment and development; talent and succession; performance and reward; employee relations and diversity; conduct and values; career facilitation and counselling.

These experiences and knowledge are part of my counselling DNA combining to form my own brand of support that includes HR expertise, corporate mindset, and multi-cultural perspectives. I have worked with professionals who were at career crossroads, individuals and parents with low self-esteem that has impacted not only their sense of self but also relationships, causing stress, anxiety, and depression. For clients who have lost their loved ones, I have helped them with grief work.

“We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves.”
- Dalai Lama XIV

Are you at the crossroad of your career?
Do you feel you may have hit the glass ceiling?
Are you a perfectionist who still feels you are not good enough?
Are you pre-occupied with how others judge you?
In relationships, do you tend to seek approval or recognition from others?
Have you been keeping yourself busy to fill the vacuum of your bereavement or loss?

If the above questions make you feel uncomfortable, uneasy, or even defensive, let’s talk about it.  I have created a flexible single-session consultation called Sounding Board if you just want to talk but are not ready to seek counselling just yet.

Grace Leung - Consultant and Career Development Facilitator

My consulting and career development facilitation approaches are based on solution-focused therapy and problem-solving model to help clients to identify career issues/dilemma; review career profiles; brainstorm/explore solutions, consider risks, consequences and contingencies; setting meaningful goals; and create a realistic career action plan. I see my role as a catalyst to support clients to review, clarify, and achieve their career aspirations.

Having spent over 15 years as a Human Resources (HR) practitioner had provided opportunity for me to work with people from different walks of life.  I have a diverse HR background: headhunter; corporate in-house recruiter; business manager; human resources business partner and career development facilitator. These experiences have helped me to develop an instinctive understanding of human motivations; appreciation and understanding of cultural differences; and the skills to make behavioral assessments.

In addition to my career in Human Resources, I have a strong passion in College Counselling to support young adults to gain a better understanding of their strengths, tertiary education choices, and career interests.

Stop comparing yourself and your life to other people.
Everyone is different.
You are an individual and your journey is yours to complete.

Focus on you, not them"
